On the occasion of Mother's Day, here is a unique story about a temple in Kashi.

Everyone has heard about the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but on the banks of the Ganges in Kashi, there is a Shiva temple that still stands slightly tilted to one side.

This is the Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple.

When you first see it, you naturally wonder why the temple is leaning like that.

Then you hear a beautiful legend...

In the court of King Manasingh, a devoted servant built this temple in memory of his mother.

Years of hard work and devotion went into completing the temple.

When it was finally finished, the servant said he was now free from his mother's debt. At that moment, the temple leaned to one side.

He realized his mistake then!

Whether this story is true or just a legend is unknown, but the sentiment behind it is very deep.

The temple standing on the banks of the Ganges still leans quietly today.

It seems to say, "No matter how great a person becomes, it is never possible to be free from a mother's debt."
