Oxidative Stress: The "Smoke" Produced During Energy Generation

We eat, walk, think... all of this is possible because our body generates energy.

But one thing we often don't realize is that "smoke" is also produced in the body during energy generation.

What is this "smoke"?

During energy generation, some Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) are formed.

This is what is called Oxidative Stress.

A simple example:

Gas burns → Heat is produced → But smoke is also produced

Similarly in the body:

Energy (ATP) is produced And "chemical smoke" is also produced.

When does the problem occur?

As long as this smoke is cleared on time there is no problem.

But when

→ Too much smoke is produced → Or cleaning is insufficient

Then oxidative stress increases.

Effect on the body: This stress slowly damages * Cell walls * Protein * DNA

And then inflammation begins.

Experience from OPD:

Many patients say "I feel tired... but reports are normal." In such cases, stress might be occurring at the cellular level.

Lifestyle impact: * Processed diet * High sugar * Low physical activity * Lack of sleep * Constant stress

All these gradually increase the "smoke" and can lead to chronic inflammation.

Body's natural mechanism:

The body has an antioxidant system (a smoke-clearing mechanism).

But when there's "too much smoke, too little cleaning," an imbalance is created.

Next post:

Antioxidants How does the body perform this cleaning? Find out in the next post.

Just as important as generating energy is controlling the "smoke" produced in that process.

Did you know that "smoke" is produced in the body during energy generation? 👍 Yes, I knew 🤔 Learned something new 📚 Will read the next post
