Breathing is what we all have been doing throughout our life, unknowingly. Till now we have been controlled by our breath, once you start Yoga you can control your breath. Pranayama is a simple technique which everyone is aware of, but I suggest Pranayama cannot be done until you prepare your body for it.

Here we will be learning the preparatory technique for Pranayama, which would also improve breathing, further improving the lung capacity. This is known as sectional breathing, which is divided in 3 parts.

1. Bucket handle movement:

As you inhale, expand your chest sideways, as you exhale it goes back to normal.

As you inhale, expand your chest front ways, as you exhale it goes back to normal.

3. Clavicular (collar bone) movement:

As you inhale, expand your chest upwards, as you exhale it goes back to normal.
