It is rightly said, “Yoga is not a work-out, it is a work-in”. The word “yoga” comes from the Sanskrit root “yuj”, which means “to unite” the spirit and physical body together. Yoga helps in achieving a flexible body, maintaining inner peace and managing stress. But people specially office workers seldom get enough time to practice yoga regularly. On this background, ‘Just for Hearts’ successfully conducted a hands on session on ‘Workplace Yoga’ accompanied by bone mineral density (BMD) checkup for the employees of Citibank.
The program was conducted at PAN India level (simultaneously at Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Secunderabad and Gurgaon locations). It was launched on 25th August 2014 and went till 27th August 2014. The experts focused on the importance on the yoga as it helps the employees to improve their efficiency and psychological clarity while reducing the number of their ailing days. The employees of 800 to 900 were curious to know the benefits of Yoga and improve their health and well being.
The event also included the bone mineral density (BMD) checkup of the employees. The test is conducted to detect brittle bone disease (osteoporosis) and predict risk of bone fractures. This was followed by the consultation from the expert doctors. The program was widely appreciated and helped employees gain awareness regarding their health.
