Now-a-days we all are striving very hard to make our busy lifestyle into healthy lifestyle. There are many health habits which affect us and even if we know, we tend to avoid them. Bad health habits in kids affect their health in long run. Some of the habits in adults such as irregular sleeping pattern, alcohol consumption etc lead to lifestyle diseases.
Skipping meals is most common unhealthy habit. This increases the gap between two meals, which leads to take more calories in next meal. This also creates acidity problems.
Many of us have a habit of drinking tea/coffee immediately after food which hinders iron absorption in our body. It is recommended not to take tea/coffee immediately after a meal.
Many eat their meals very fast or watch television while eating. Hence we tend to eat more and neglect the quality of food.
We don’t chew our food properly which causes indigestion.
We don’t drink water frequently and has replaced it with carbonated beverages which again hinders nutrients absorption. These drinks provides us only calories & no other nutrient.
Many of us have two major addiction: smoking and consuming alcohol.
Consuming alcohol is becoming common in all age group due to corporate culture. But it is linked to greater risk of blood pressure, high level of blood fat and also extra calories can lead to weight gain.
Whereas smoking hampers lung diseases, cancer and increases blood pressure. Passive smoking is equally injurious to health just as active smoking.
3. No exercise:
Sitting job and yet no exercise increases weight, body fat % & leads to obesity. The only way in order to lose weight naturally without any side effect is exercise. We should involve in any physical activity to stay healthy.
4. Use of supplements:
Especially boys who want build their body fall prey to usage of supplements without proper knowledge. Not all but a few of these supplements can be hazardous to our health. Any supplements (protein or hormonal supplements) are bad for health.
5. Irregular sleeping habit:
12-14 hours of work or night shift in BPO or having sleepless night are all the reasons of irregular sleeping habits. Our body needs 6-8 hours of sound sleep daily. Lack of sleep is route cause of many lifestyle diseases.
Making small changes in daily routine helps to achieve good health and live disease free life.
