Just for Hearts had arranged a Health Talk Session on 28th June 2013 at Vishay Semiconductors, SEEPZ, Mumbai. It was a very nice interactive session along with awareness quiz and breathing exercise demo. Session was initiated by Mr. Kamlesh sir, (HR, Country head) by introducing their perspective behind arranging this talk. He explained the need that they all are aware about their irregular or disturbed lifestyle, want to improve but do not know what solutions they can find. So they basically wanted to know how they can improve their lifestyle to maintain good health. Session was attended by 30 people from the company with lots of queries in mind to ask. Talk was initiated by Ms. Pooja Kulkarni who took an interactive quiz amongst the attendees to assess the knowledge and need base. All the employees enjoyed the session and corrected their wrongly perceived notions about health. When asked, everyone knew that Diet, Exercise and Stress Management are the three key steps for healthy lifestyle but how we can incorporate was not known to them. And to answer their queries Ms. Tejas Limaye took an excellent session on Heart Healthy Lifestyle. She explained them very well what is meant by lifestyle modification, what is a balanced diet and importance of regular exercise in your daily routine. It is a common practice now-a-days that people follow exercise routines demonstrated on television and then end up in some other problems. So Ms. Tejas also emphasized on exercise guidance by an expert. She supported this with a breathing exercise demo. Most of them were following wrong breathing pattern and were following this as an exercise routine daily. So overall this talk benefited them in correcting their faulty habits and improving lifestyle. Talk was followed by interactive question and answer session which lasts quite a long to clear all the doubts or wrong notions about diet and exercise. Overall attendees were happy that their mind which was full with worries is now cleared up by all the experts. Diet experts Ms. Madhura Gurav and Reema Desai also guided them regarding dietary modifications to keep their health maintained and also enforce them the importance of regular check ups. So overall it was an enjoyable at the same time informative and eye-opening session conducted at Vishay Semiconductors with great response from the attendees to make it a successful event. Lastly to end with a nice thought which made an impact on these employees to get motivated to adopt a healthy lifestyle. i.e “What comes easy will not last long, and what lasts long will not comes easy” We really hope that we will continue this wonderful association with ‘Vishay Semiconductors’ further for betterment.
