We spend more than 9 hours at the workplace and on an average of 4 hours at home before going to bed. Most of this time is spent sitting in front of the workstation, watching Television or surfing the Internet or relaxing on the couch after a long day. Too much-sitting leads to an increase in the risk of Back pain, poor blood circulation, weakened muscles, posture problems, stress and even Cardiovascular diseases and cancer. It is recommended to take a break every 30 minutes and practise simple exercises at your desk. Yoga is known as a full body exercise which helps relax muscles, release tension from mind and uplift the mood in no time. A DeskYoga is a gentle form of Yoga that can be done either by sitting on the chair or using it as a support while you stretch the body. The best part about Desk Yoga is, it can be done at your workstation and does not need any exercise gear apart from the Chair. The Desk yoga exercises are derived from original Yoga poses. For example a cat-cow stretch, raised hand pose, forward bending, extended side angles, Eagle pose, spinal twists, Warrior pose etc. bring the same health effect as exercises done on ground or mat.
