We all wish to have a glowing & lustrous skin! But popping up of acne disrupts this beauty. Acne is one of the most common skin problems, especially among teenagers, caused due to clogging & infection of oil producing glands under the skin.

For acnes to heal properly it is absolutely necessary to see that they are never squeezed no matter how tempting it may be. Squeezing causes scarring and may spread infection.
Wash your face twice a day: It is also essential that you wash your face at least twice daily & pat it dry. Face has more oil producing glands than any other part of the body. Cleansing helps to remove excess oil produced and any dirt or dust particles from the face. But washing should not exceed twice daily as it will leave skin dry and cause more oil production by glands. Using oil free face cleanser is beneficial. In case one needs to put make up, see that water or oil based cosmetics are used.
Have enough water: Drinking sufficient amount of water (at least 3 liters / day ) helps to keep skin well hydrated and to flush out all toxins from the body.
Have good food: Like any other organ of the body, skin also requires good nutrition to stay healthy. The basic component of skin cell being protein, incorporating foods rich in proteins such as dairy products, eggs, pulses etc. helps in maintenance and repair of skin cells. Vitamin A (beta carotene) helps to strengthen the protective tissue of skin, reduces sebum production and is a powerful antioxidant which is needed to get rid of toxins. Dairy products, leafy & orange – red coloured vegetables, eggs, fish etc. are rich source of vitamin A.
Take care of your hair: Regularly washing hair is also equally important. Hair too contains oils and can contribute to acne breakouts. Washing pillows and sheets regularly removes the oils that are absorbed from skin and can reapply on face along with dirt.
De stress Yourself: Stress & lack of sleep may also cause acne. Hence ensure you de stress yourself with different relaxation techniques such as meditation, music, breathing etc. and get sufficient sleep.
