The link between heart disease & job stress has long been well established for men, but it wasn’t clear if this held true for women as well.Traditionally, smoking, drinking, working stress has led to heart problems among the men, increase in habit of smoking, drinking, stress; fast food coupled with sedentary lifestyle is making women, especially urban working women, diabetic. And this leads to weakening their heart.
The urban women are surely not exercising & their lifestyle enough leading to obesity & resultant diabetes. The problems compound & leads to another …high cholesterol, hypertension etc. All these risk factors increase blood sugar levels & leads to endothelial dysfunction, which cause blockages in arteries.
Various informal research / studies conducted by experts say that urban women are 2-3 times more prone to heart disease, thanks to their lifestyle.
It was different scene five years ago when women in their early sixties were more prone to heart disease. But now days, women in late thirties, forties & early fifties are complaining heart disease.
Now days Cardiologist are seeing new pattern in heart disease. Artificial menopause ( Removal of uterus / ovaries) or early menopause can increase risk of heart disease. Hormone pills & pills consumed for postponing menstrual cycles are leading to heart disease.
On other hand, rural women are more relaxed, have less stressed life, does more exercise. This keeps weight, cholesterol, blood sugar in control & heart diseases away.
